IGP orders transfer of Kwara police commissioner after Offa robbery


- The commissioner for police in Kwara state, Lawan Ado has
been transfered
- Ado was ordered to resume duty at the Police College in
Kaduna
- His ransfer was reportedly connected to the recent robbery
in Offa, Kwara state

After a deadly robbery attack on banks in Offa that led to the
death of over fifty people, the Inspector General of Police,
Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the transfer of Kwara state police
commissioner, Lawan Ado to Kaduna state.
Ado has been transferred to the Police College in Kaduna while Aminu Pai Saleh has taken over as the new commissioner of police in Kwara state.

Vanguard reports that sources claim Ado's transfer is likely connected to the recent attack of five banks that happened Offa in Offa local government council of the state.
However, another source of the police said: “If anything,the CP
tried his best in his handling of Offa bank robbery incident before it was transferred,and he got commendations from everywhere,not any complain.”

They were arraigned for failing to give police credible information on the gunmen who attacked some banks in the area on April.
Others that were arraigned included four guests who stayed in
the hotel at the time the gunmen allegedly lodged in it.
