Twenty four hours after her rescue from the collapsed building at Odunfa Street on Wednesday, 89-year old grandma, Mrs Mistura Amodu has died in the hospital.
She died at the General Hospital, Lagos around 5pm on Wednesday.
Recall that a three storey building located at 87 Odunfa Street, Lagos Island collapsed on Wednesday at about 9:30am.
Five persons, including a teenager and 89-year old Mrs. Mistura Amodu were rescued by emergency agency workers. Mama Amodu was trapped in the rubble for 5 hours after the building collapsed. She was rescued at exactly 1:55pm. She was immediately strapped to a stretcher, and conveyed into a waiting ambulance.
A family source confirmed to Green News that she was getting better before she gave up the ghost. The source described her death as “most unfortunate”.
