The Kaduna
state Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has been asked to probe the 23
caretaker local government areas committee chairmen of the state.
The Kaduna Human Rights Association, in a letter dated July 21, 2015 and seen by Punch newspaper by the group’s Executive Director, Sadau Garba, urged the governor to probe the former council chairmen for financial recklessness who served during the tenure of the immediate past governor of the state, Muhktar Yero.

The group said that the chairmen recorded no meaningful achievement during their tenure while also accusing them of mismanaging the state’s fund.
“In order to have a durable political system in the state, we humbly advise your government to demand a probe of the financial activities of the former 23 local government caretaker chairmen.

“The various local government committees have not felt the impact of the dividends of democracy despite the substantial amounts of money alleged to have been released to the local government councils” the group said.
Recently, the El Rufai said it is time for corruption in the subsidy regime to be tackled. He made the statement on Monday at the 7th Wole Soyinka Centre Media Lecture Series themed “Nigeria and the oil fortune”, held at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.
