The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity,
Mr Femi Adesina, has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari and his
United states of America couunterpart, Barack Obama were never in direct
talks over the issue of same sex marriage.
Ahead if Buhari’s four day visit to the country, there were fears amongst Nigerians that Buhari could succumb to pressure from Obama to approve same sex marriage but Adesina however sad the president rejected the request.
He went one step further to clarify late on Wedneesday nnight in his personal twitter account, @FemAdesina that the two presidents were never in direct contact over the situation.
He said: “The same sex marriage issue came up at the joint session of Senate and House Committees on Foreign Affairs, not in direct talks with Obama.
