Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has visited the state’s central
prison where he ordered the release of about 108 inmates serving various
jail terms.
The governor also approved the immediate payment of the sum of five million naira to the prison authorities as fees for each of the freed inmate, in lieu of the sum placed on them before their convicts.

The visit was part of the Salah celebration activities and will go along way of bringing smiles to the dejected prisoners.
He charged them to be of good behavior after their discharge, so that they could be of immense benefit to the society.
Responding to the warm gesture, one of the freed convict, Ibrahim Sule expressed appreciation to the leader for securing their freedom adding that, most of them are there on light offences. He then assured Ganduje that they will be of good behavior and appealed to him to enlist them in one of the empowerment programs by the state government.
