A 60-year-old woman and mother of three has
committed suicide in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The deceased, Mrs. Deborah Lawani (not her
pictured) who had a running battle with her 65-
year-old husband, Olabamgbe Lawani was said to
have sneaked out of the bed where they both slept
in the middle of the night to hang herself on the stair
case of their storey building at 56, Araromi Street,
Araromi area in Akure.
It was gathered that the couple had once separated
for about 20 years and only reconciled recently. The
late Lawani was said to have returned to the house
about two weeks ago after they settled their
differences.
The state police PRO, ASP Wole Ogodo who
confirmed the incident, said the remains of the
deceased had been deposited in the mortuary.
